Solved Streaming

I can't justify buying an Xbox 360 to be able to stream Netflix, as I would have to purchase a subscription to Microsoft Live, in order to have WiFi capabilities to stream Netflix. Is it possible to attach a wireless router to a TV, so that the TV receives a wireless signal. I suppose at that point, I would be able to buy a roku and stream much more. Or do I need a smart TV to accomplish any of what I need?

Unless your TV has microsoft silverlight and a browser or a dedicated netflix application then you most likely won't.

The only device that I feel that would offer your purpose would either be a PS3 or use your PC and hook a VGA or HDMI cable to the tv and use it as a monitor

Sorry it is just that many TVs have software which cannot be changed therefore removing the chance to view it using the TV then another issue is that even if it can the hardware may not be able to handle video streaming. A smart TV however has potential and if I remember correctly I think most smart TVs have a netflix app for it however don't hold that against me as I am not entirely sure

Sorry to bother you again, just a quick question about the PS3. Will it be possible to get WiFi to 3 TVs or just one with the PS3?

What kind of equipment do you currently have? TV, Blu Ray player, etc.

One PS3 can only be connected to one TV at any one time unfortunately. You have to remember that this is a gaming console and not an entertainment device. It may be possible to add two TVs however I have not tried this myself and since the cable would be so short it would not be practical

@kbrady1979 currently we have a 52" Sharp Aquos LGc5255u, which I was unable to find the specs for. A 32" Panasonic TC-26LX85 and a Vizio 19", which I don't have a model # for. They are are HDTVs.

@shadowjk, I figured as much, just asking.
