Streets & Trips 2013 install issues

I'm trying to install S&T 2013 on one of my computers, and it gets hung up preinstallation trying to install "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package" and "Hotfix for Microsoft Windows (KB2643882)." It gives me the message "One of the prerequisite components failed to install. Setup will now exit." It works on another computer, so I'm not sure what causing it to not install on this one. I checked Windows Update, and that update is not installed. When I try to install it by downloading it from Microsoft, it gives me the message "This update is not applicable to your computer."

Also, I really hate the interface on S&T 2013. It's just S&T 2007's with the toolbar buttons enlarged to 5 times the original size and all color and depth taken out of them. I have S&T 2007. Is there a way to take the updated maps for 2013 and use them in 2007 or replace the toolbars in 2013 with 2007's?

Have you tried installing the 2007 edition, to see if it will install? Maybe if that is installed, the 2013 version will install?

I have the 2013 version installed on both Win 7 and Win 10 (same system - dual boot). As you mentioned, not a lot of difference between the 2013 and older versions. Some maps are updated, but Microsoft no longer supplies updates for S&T's (any edition).

I tried installing S&T 2007 first, but 2013 still gets stuck trying to install the C++ redistributable. Is there a way I can just copy the 2013 maps off of the other computer to the 2007 installation on this one?
