So I turned on my computer today which has no OS on it because I wanted to do a clean install and it is not seeming to go post the boot screen. It won't even let me into the BIOS info. Anyone know whats going on?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. This whole thing is driving me crazy.

A little more info is needed

Like what kind of system is it?

How did you remove the OS.

You either did something, or you have a coincidental part failure.

As much info as you know is needed for anybody to help. Other than that we would just be blind guessing.

But to start, are all the cables hooked up?
Maybe a loose monitor cable and you don't see the post?
Take all the memory out and if it doesn't beep a memory error the your MB isn't getting any signal to start.

So many things, so little time.

Alright. Its an emachines T2862 with 4 gigs of ram. Not sure of the HDD size. No operating system is on it right now. I deleted the partitions on it
so I could do a clean install of windows 7 and I had a problem detailed in the link below. Oh and it was going past the boot screen just fine yesterday but I tried to start my computer up today and it didn't go past the emachines boot up logo. Thanks.

Reset the cmos by either removing the round battery for a few seconds on the motherboard or by using the jumper on the motherboard that's for this purpose.

See if you can get into bios now.

It's probably silver/metallic in color. Looks like a watch battery only the diameter is much bigger. Basically a silver disc sitting in a retainer. Be careful not to damage the battery retainer when removing. Go easy.

Removed the battery and put it back in, still no luck. But how exactly do I do the thing with the jumper?
