Stuck on B.S.O.D will not boot to a cursor Windows 7 Home Premium

As the title says "Stuck on B.S.O.D will not boot to a cursor"


I have read the various threads and solutions on this Forum and tried what was advised, no good


I have even tried a "hard reset" no good
I have re-seated the RAM, no good
I have even changed the RAM, no good
I can't get to "Safe Mode"
I have tried re-installing Windows 7 in the hope I could get to the "recovery area" no good
I have plugged in a "secondary monitor" just in case the screen was faulty, no good
I have tried a secondary "DVD drive" just in case the on-board DVD drive was faulty, no good
I have looked on "YouTube",no good
I have looked on Google, no good
I have tried a "computer repair disc", no good
This BSOD just came up out of the blue, I have not downloaded any MS updates, i.e. KB 2607712, KB9766098 or KB 915597 as suggested in one webpage, the reason why I know is because all I was doing online making sure I could get online and then get to Google etc.

Just one question
I'm typing this on my tower so with the "BSOD - Posting Instructions" that you very kindly supplied.
How am I supposed to complete items 1 through 9 with nothing on the screen ?

I did actually amend my post to say "If you can . . .".

You could download the file and try running it in Safe Mode!

[2] Shutdown the computer and replace the HDD and boot.
[3] Shutdown the computer, remove the keyboard and mouse and boot.

The only thing that plugged in was the psu


I have a SATA to USB adapter if I plug that into my tower is there anything that I can run that will interrogate that drive.
I've had it plugged in before and my tower recognises the extra drive
Is there anything that I can use / run that will interrogate that drive

No, all that I get is a black screen.
The only time that I have seen anything is when I connected the USB to SATA adapter.
What I saw was the contents of the HDD which I may add has 3 partitions, one of which is a "recovery.

Something else that I have been thinking about is because I can see the HDD surely I must be able to run something from the tower pointed to the HDD as opposed to running it for the tower HDD

I was mistaken there are four partitions


(G) Local Disk
(H) Recovery
(I) System
(J) HP_Tools

I now have "Command Prompt" open as Administrator

I don't suppose that you can post a screenshot of the disk management screen can you?

Unfortuanely, the screenshot is unreadable. This will be due to the fact that only the basic drivers are loaded.

In the elevated cmd prompt type chkdsk C: /R and press Enter [Reboot needed].

That is what it is supposed to do, please type Y and press Enter to Reboot.

Can you redo the screenshot of the disk management screenbut expand the Status column please after running chkdsk?
