Stuck on black screen of death, after blue screen of death

In need of serious help.*
To begin, I am stupid and haven't backed up any of my files so for now a windows reinstall is out of the question. (unless it's completely necessary) okay, so the problem: I was using my computer as normal. Then while on Google Chrome, it started getting slow and said "not responding" this happens all the time, to everyone so I waited and then the dreaded Blue screen of death appeared. Didn't get a look at what it said because it shut down almost immediately. After that it loaded as normal? Which is weird, I think. But got stuck after startup on the black screen of death. All I have is a cursor. Can't do ctrl+alt+del, can't load any of the safe modes. When I go on startup repair, it says "no restore points" on system restore and "could not detect a problem" on system repair or whatever it's called. There must be something to fix this?! :/ I live in hope that the whole system doesn't need to be wiped clean because as I said, I stupidly haven"t backed up my files.*

this sounds like it should be a BSOD thread, post a seperate thread in the BSOD section following the posting instructions for BSODs, make sure you include the dump files, if you don't know how to do that, it should tell you in the BSOD posting instructions.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I'm not sure where to go from here now because my current situation is that I can't log on. It won't gwt past the Black screen. So i don't have access to the dump files and the blue screen only flashed once, I didn't see what it said. My issue now is how to get past the black screen and be able to log on. I've tried everything. Even the sticky keys method, but nothing seems to be working :/

have you tried going to startup repair, running CMD and using SFC /scannnow, defragmenting the HD or running chkdsk? also, have you tried to access the BIOS by pressing F2 when your manufacturer logo appears after you press the power button?

Okay. I'm kinda lost here :/ SFC/ scannow? No idea what that is. Also, how do I defragment the HD? Probably a stupid question. What do I do after getting to bios? I can get there just don't know what to do once there.
