Hi guys
I've been using Win 7 since the first beta and this is the first time I've had any problem whatsoever, but am rather stumped by it. All was working fine yesterday and I'd left the PC on overnight, so today did a warm restart only to be faced with Win 7 deciding it wasn't going to load for anything. It gets past the password screen to the blue "Welcome" one and that's as far as it will go. :( No error messages, and I can get into Safe Mode but nothing obvious in there to pin down any possible problem. I did install 2 programs related to my mobile phone yesterday, so have uninstalled them and cleared out the registry etc, but still no joy. I've 3 SATA drives - one with Win 7, one with XP and the 3rd is a data only drive, and until today the system had always booted directly into Win 7, now, however, after a couple of forced shutdowns it's opening up XP instead - presumably I can fix that just by disconnecting the XP drive, but don't want to do that just yet when I need it for getting online etc.

I don't want to have to reinstall if I can help it although I think I'm fully backed up, and just unsure about the best options to try as I have this sadly bad habit of fixing things until they're REALLY broken!!

So would truly appreciate any input anyone might have on it.

Sys info:

System Manufacturer FOXCONN
System Model A6VMX
System Type X86-based PC

Thanks

Ahhh - my all time favourite SuperHero - Capt Jack - see that's the sort of help I was hoping to get but didn't imagine I'd find quite so fast. Thanks TONS for that - will go and see if it sorts me out and come back and update you shortly :))

Thanks again
TKR

Whoopee Do - all sorted. So grateful for that speedy help - all credit to you for being willing to answer a question you've no doubt answered 50,000 times before, and pointed me to the answer so readily. Having been on loads of forums for loads of different issues over the past decade I can say without doubt that those related to Win 7 have THE best members and admins on them, as I always get my query answered quickly and effectively. I've been on some other notable forums where I've sat days waiting to get even 1 reply or even a response without a solution - hugely frustrating. I run a forum myself for those with one of my own medical conditions, and try very hard to do as you have, and help speedily where possible. Kudos!
