Would my motherboard (ASRock M3A770DE) still not display anything before the CPU and RAM is installed? I have my GT 220 installed. I just want to know if it's supposed to display...like even an error message saying I need a CPU and RAM...

No, you need CPU & Ram for the MB to recognize the Video/graphics card to display on you monitor ;)
