Stuttering/Freezing

Hi,

I had an issue in the past where I installed a 32-bit version of a program and it messed everything up. You can take a look at this thread for more information.

http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware...-work-anymore-after-turning-off-computer.html

I had to do a repair install in order for my computer to run properly again. However, 3/4 months after the repair install, my computer is acting strange. It constantly stutters/freezes every 5-10 seconds or so. When I browse the internet, it freezes for about 5 seconds before it resumes; when I open up anything, it freezes before it starts; when I play a game, it lags/freezes randomly for a good 3-5 seconds.

I have no idea what happened or if this has anything to do with the "repair install". I assume it does and I am asking you guys if anything can be done to fix this issue before a complete format of my system.

If this began 3 or 4 months after the repair install, it is probably not related to it.

I think you should check for malware.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save it to a convenient location.

  1. Right click on mbam-setup.exe and select Run as administrator
  2. Before clicking the Finish button, make sure that these 2 boxes are checked (ticked):
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
      Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  3. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now check for updates. If your firewall prompts, please allow it. If you can't update it, select the Update tab. Under Update Mirror, select one of the websites and click on Check for Updates.
  4. Select the Scanner tab. Click on Perform quick scan, then click on Scan.
  5. Leave the default options as it is and click on Start Scan.
  6. When done, you will be prompted. Click OK, then click on Show Results.
  7. Check (tick) all items except items in the C:\System Volume Information folder and click on Remove Selected.
  8. After it has removed the items, Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply. You can also find the log in the Logs tab. The bottom most log is the latest.
