Subwoofer & external hard drives question

Hey guys.
I recently bought a new speaker set : the Eagle Arion (see specs for full product number). It's a 2.1 set.

I've been blown away how powerful the subwoofer is. So, a question has been bugging me since : Can my two external hard drives be harmed by the vibration caused by the subwoofer? Can I put a satellite on my 250GB external?

Notes :
1. Each satellites are 35W each (peak 70W power)
2. The subwoofer is 15W. Vibration are directed to the ground.

IMO you should find a better place for your sub. Sitting there, directly in front of you, is not going to give you the best bass. Better place (again, IMO!) would be under your computer table.

All constant vibration can be harmful to HD's. I read between the lines you listen music / games quite loud? IF so, I would not set anything containing constantly moving objects on top of that sub.

As Kari mentions, any kind of continuous vibration is not a good thing. Laptops that are used onstage often have problems from bass frequencies causing the heads to bounce, which cause the OS/drive to re-read the data. At some point, if there are enough read errors the system will usually freeze. Under normal listening levels a 15-watt subwoofer isn't going to rattle your drives... I have a small recording studio with a 100-watt Yamaha sub plus two sets of monitors... we've never damaged drives but then again, the PC is in a vented sound proof enclosure and all external drives are sitting on heavy studio furniture so vibration isn't an issue.

I wouldn't set the satellite on the external, it does have a weak magnetic field, why play with fire?

Also, the thing is that the sub has the volume control as well as the bass & treble. I do have the remote tough. But most of the time, I directly use the buttons on the sub to control the Master Volume.
