Sudden Freeze.

So I was playing this game called League of Legends earlier today. Out of the blues, my ping in game was high surprisingly but I still continued to play despite the lags although I was starting to get suspicious. After a few minutes of playing, the game suddenly freezed while this sound effect was prolonged. Few seconds after that, a small window showed up (it looks like MSconfig but it's not) and the background was all black. Soon after that thing showed up, my computer restarted by itself. What do you think is going on ? :s

To help you further visualise this, I think the way it happens is almost as abrupt as when a blue screen hit you up like way back using the XP or something. Mine is Windows 7, and it's a Dell XPS Studio 16 if that helps.

My 2nd game, apparently froze too. But the ambience and the sounds are still ongoing (like the music) just that the computer completely froze with a black screen and with the game cursor online but not movable. So I'm wondering what went wrong here.

Thank you :)

Open msconfig and disable all start up items and then restart your computer. Also, scan your PC from Malwarebytes

That sounds like a hard freeze as a result of overheating (CPU or GPU). Are you running any type of temperature monitor?

Also, you should check the event logs to see if anything was logged in the seconds before the crash.

I don't think startup items had any role in this since it was clearly a result of the game.

Hello, I'm sure that it's not overheating or whatsoever as I always have a cooling pad and my computer's temperature is just normal (besides the charger which is out of the topic). Plus, I have been on a marathon more before this one - as in hours of non stop playing the same game but encountered no problem at all. In addition, I could still multi task well in and out as well. What is a temperature monitor btw? It's a laptop if that helps haha.

About the event logs, hmm where can I find that ?
It looks complicated !
Many thanks !

Type event viewer into the start menu and filter the application and system logs. Also, get HWInfo32 and post a screenshot of the temps.
