Earlier tonight while watching a TV episode using KMPlayer I suddenly got a BSOD, the computer restarts and windows works fine. Except chrome now won't start, stating it has encountered a problem and needs to close, but works when I use the old_chrome.exe, which I'm using now. I thought it was a one time thing and go back to the episode, it happens again about half an hour later. Then about another half hour after that when I'm researching the issue. Then again later when I was trying to drag the update window for malwarebytes to a side screen. And just now when I clicked on a link to youtube in an email. I've read other threads relating to ntoskrnl.exe BSOD's and it seems that without knowing how to interpret the dump files I won't be getting anywhere.

Possibly relevant changes I've made today are: I plugged a mic pre-amp into the line-in port on my soundcard which is left in there with the pre-amp turned off, that knocked one of my DVI cables and I had to reconfigure nvidia surround, I updated KMPlayer in hopes of reducing a slight stuttering issue I was having, 20 mins later this all happens.

I've already run ad-aware antivirus, spybot search & destory and malwarebytes anti-malware. I also attempted to run SFC /scannow but it failed at 76%.

Any help will be appreciated. I have attached the .zip.

As an aside, the computer is just over a year old, has never had a single issue, I don't have an antivirus program because I used to be a computer technician and am very careful plus they mess with my games, it runs 24/7 and I generally restart it every week or so.

Thanks for the reply, I did most of that but it didn't help. Then things started to get weird, the internet stopped connecting and opening any page in chrome came up with this weird error screen. I'm afraid I was infected with some kind of virus via chrome which the scanners did not detect. Earlier in the day I was reading an article on cracked.com and when I tried to load the second page I was stopped with a warning from chrome, it's a secure site so I thought it was a mistake and continued. Their site must have been compromised for a short while. So I bit the bullet, backed up the small amount of data on C and reformatted, going to be one hell of a pain in the ass getting back to normal.
