Random BSOD's ntoskrnl.exe + a62a0 error 00000124

Started getting random BSOD's on 1-30-18. The only major thing I had done prior to that was adding a small, 120GB, SSD that I wanted to use as a VRAM drive so there's no OS on it. That was on 1-25-18 and the BSOD's didn't start until 1-30-18.

Sometimes I get then a few days apart, sometimes several on the same day, the attached file will show all the dates. There doesn't seem to be any action I'm doing when it occurs. It just happens. They all show virtually the same cause with just a slight variation in the address, a62a0 or a63ao.

I put this system together about 4 years ago and haven't had any issues with it until now. I replaced the fan on the Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler a few years ago. Other than that, everything is original.

The requested info is in the attached zip file. Thanks for your help.

The zip file contains the HDTune files and the chkdsk text file as requested. I ran the SeaTools file but it was not finding my HDD ("I"), just the 2 SSD drives. I ran it with both the Native and Legacy options after changing the configuration to IDE. Same results.

I took a photo of the BIOS. For some reason my "I" data drive does not show up. When I was installing the 2nd SSD it seemed like the BIOS would only see either the "I" HDD or the "F" SSD, not both. But Windows sees everything okay.

I had an odd error yesterday concerning QTCF.dll when I was opening a program I haven't used for a while. I know there's some issues with a Quicktime exploit. If this might possibly be an issue I can give more details. But I have run all my AV and malware software without finding any problems.

Thanks,

Joe

Addendum:

Just got a message to the effect of "You are about to be logged off in x minutes" and my computer shutdown on it's own, I was unable to stop it. First time I have ever seen that. When I booted up I went to the event log and saw the attached event which seems to indicate a possible disk device error.

Don't know if it's related to the BSOD's but I thought I would post it anyway. By the way, as of right now, I haven't had a BSOD since the last one in the dump files I posted here.

Diagnostics Test

 System File Check

Please try following:
  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy/paste "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
  • When it is finished reboot your system
  • Open again an admin command prompt
  • Enter sfc/scannow again
If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Hi axe0,

The sfc did not find any corrupt files after the 2nd run, but I have included a copy of the CBS.log anyway, and also a picture of the screen after the 2nd run.

About 1/2 hour after I posted last night that I hadn't had any BSOD's for a few days, I got one. So I included a copy of that even though it appears the same as any of the others.

Looks like 1 of the network drivers caused the crash.

axe0,

How would I go about fixing this? Is this a driver issue or a hardware issue? What you're showing me is quite cryptic to me, to say the least.

You said "caused the crash", is this the cause for all the crashes I've been having as well?

Any guidance would be really appreciated. I just had another crash and for a while firefox wouldn't work. For a minute I thought I was going to have to dig out my old Dell Pentium 4 to get back online.

Thanks for your quick responses, so far.

Joe

Sorry, thought I added everything.

Before I post what I had originally written, I would like to make something clear.
I noticed evidence of piracy, I want to ask you to remove everything related to piracy from your system before we continue.
Piracy is against the forum rules and I am personally against it since it can result in unknowingly infecting a system with malware and making it unnecessary difficult to troubleshoot problems.

Hey guys,
kfdaddy I got the same problem same problem, started 2-4-18, same a62a0 or a63ao crash address. Been going crazy trying to figure it out, I could be WAY off but do you have any joysticks or throttle devices?

kfoq,

I don't have a joystick. Don't know what a throttle device is so I'm pretty sure I don't have that either.

4-5 days before my first BSOD I installed a second, small, SSD drive. Probably unrelated, but that's the only hardware change I made before the first crash.

I looked at Windows updates and on 1/29, the day before my first crash, I had a MS .NET framework 4.71 update (KB4054852) installed. Again, don't know if it's related, but you can check to see if you installed the same, or similar, update right before your crash. If you did, let me know, it could be a clue to the problem.

I'm on the "naughty list" here, so you might want to start your own thread on this topic if you want help fixing it.

Throttle sometimes goes with a joystick. Seemed like it could have been part of the problem but maybe not. I did the NET 4.71 update too but after when troubleshooting, and no new drives for me.

I noticed the 'piracy' comments... do we have to uninstall bittorrent or something before we get help?

I see. But is there not a higher forum rule: "Please do not create duplicate threads and posts on the same issue."
So for me and all people the future can you please give a hint or a clue what the solution is?
Or where there is another thread that has the solution?

Each thread is user specific, if others can benefit from it that's a + but the main goal is to help the OP.
IOW, duplicate threads about the same issue is not above the piracy rule.

axe0,

I think you used poor judgement when you publicly labeled me in this thread.

If you had an issue with me other than the topic of this thread, you should have PM'd me. The discussion should have been just between you and me. Now this thread is poisoned and no one can possibly gain from it. Sorry about that kfoq.

I'm not sure what I'm being accused of now. I have no idea what "IOW, duplicate threads about the same issue is not above the piracy rule." even means. But I wasn't intending to harm anyone or anything here.

I'm too old for this BS, and it stresses me out way too much to deal with these posts. All I was looking for was a simple effin' answer and now it's devolved to this.

I'd really, really like this thread to be locked or better yet, deleted altogether. At the very least, I'm unsubscribing from all posts. If I can remove myself from the member list I'm going to do that too. That might clear the way for others to post.

As I mentioned before, I ask you to remove the piracy on your system (files used to crack, changes required for a crack, the cracked programs, etc.) so we can continue.

If Kfoq would like help I recommend him to start a new thread so we can have a look at the situation, this is something I should've said earlier and I don't know why I didn't for which I apologize.
