Bought my tabletop last January with Vista and installed W7, since it was available. Everything went fine until lately, the system breaks down (cuts power) with no warning whatsoever. Is there an incompatibility tween acer M3201 and W7 or between me and them? I read somewhere that the power settings may have a say, but since I'm the farthest possible opposite of a wizzard, I'd welcome a novice's plain-English tutorial.

And yes, I'm new here for an obvious reason... so you know.

sounds like overheating... you might want to run one of those programs that monitor the temperature of your CPU while you are using our computer.

It's not overheating as the computer goes out randomly, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes hours. But I started thinking now that the system unit stays on humming - only the display loses signal and turns into power save mode. Could this problem be related to the connection between the sys unit and display?
