Hello All,

I have been reading/searching for an hour with no solution.

I have multiple external drives for backups. THis morning while looking for an old file, I noticed everything but one folder on a Seagate drive is locked. I use this HDD is most everyday and the main folder i work out of is unlocked and working.. All other folders locked.

Anyway, I can take ownership etc and unlock them but now photo viewer, PDFs ect all get the message that they can not be opened. [h=1]"Windows Photo Viewer Can’t Open This Picture Error"[/h]
Before I "take ownership" of anything else,, What am i doing wrong? All of these used to work. I am searching for an old family photo.

Chris

If it's a permissions issue you have to do more than take ownership. You have to grant yourself full access.
