Suggest me a program Protector

Hi,

Can someone suggest me an application to prompt a password to execute or to run(use) a programme on PC not only installed applications but also for installing applications, the same should prompt password while uninstalling a program from the control panel. The application should collect all the programmes that are installed on the PC and should prompt a password while opening and uninstalling it.?

I googled for the abobe one and found ---Program Protect. But not satisfied with that application. I have to add the programmes to be protected manually. And when I tried to uninstall the protected program, it is going well, not prompting any password.

It is some what difficult to add the uninstaller also into the Program Protect application, for all the programmes installed on the PC.

Please suggest me with ur experience....

Really, since you have Windows 7 Ultimate, I'd suggest simply using it as a standard user and having a password setup for the administrator that way, any time a program install must occur, it will prompt you for a password. This is in regard to installing applications. As far as actually running them, what you can do is have them set up to run as administrator (though I wouldn't recommend this) if you're concerned about the password prompts. I'll take a look for some programs though.

I agree.

Setup main acct with admin rights, make a password and elevate the UAC to maxium.

If always run on a standard accout, anything that changes any Windows setting, program installations or removal etc, will be prompted for permission and a PW.

Just for the record, you can do this also running as an Admin user by enabling Prompt for credentials in Group Policy Local Security
