SunBelt Vipre AV compatible?

I'll get around to installing it but is it really that much better than NOD32? It seems lighter, from what I've seen, but does it have the advanced settings/capabilities that NOD32 has?

Lighter than Nod.

Faster than Nod.

Detected things Nod did not.

Never really found a need for any advanced settings in Nod other than to confuse me and have something set that shouldn't be or something that wasn't set that should be.

Hey Igster!
Glad you and Dinesh started this conversation. I'm running Vipre now and it is very nice. Running fine with Threatfire too. I'm waiting on Avast 5 to come out of beta before I decide if I want to spend money for my AV. Avast 5 looks very promising but isn't ready for prime time yet.

Hi Dinesh,

I've occasionally had a problem where my Firefox process gets "stuck". On your screenshot, I notice two instances of both browser running. Thats what mine will do when its stuck. Right click on the browser processes and terminate them. Then reopen Firefox. See if that helps. I've never linked this behavior to Threatfire but next time it happens, I'll investigate a little more and see if that's the cause.

Well, you can add exceptions pretty easy in Vipre as well. Plus, there are quite a few things that are configurable.

thanx for that. I'll install it when I get a chance. I never thought about running any other av software before as NOD32 has served me well...very exciting!!

Well, guess I'm nuts, but even though I still had about 2 years left on my ESS subscription, I went ahead and bought Vipre for the wife and I for a year.

Just like the app that much. It is fast and works well. I really have not been happy with slow response times from ESET for releases and issues that have been presented to them.

Sunbelt was super fast in addressing any issues or questions that I had, even though I was not a licensed user. ESET simply ignores you it seems.

I just reinstalled Vipre Beta, I had been testing MSE and i really liked it. But I had been using Vipre for over a year on several systems from an old P3 XP system to several Vista systems and on several Win 7 Beta, RC and now RTM. I bought the $49 "family" license with allows me to add all my systems on one license. Pays off after the 3 system. :D

Funny, you started this thread and look at all the good press and sales Vipre has made because of it. I've also suggested that my office consider switching to Vipre as well.
