Super fast boot has become painfully slow

Please answer the question in my post #39 and please explain.

Is this a company computer? The reason I ask is your system specs show this. To the best of my knowledge Symantec Endpoint is a business program.

Sorry, I missed that - thought it was a Norton advert :p

It's my home PC but I've been using it for company stuff as I hate using laptops and the Desktops work provide for the same reason - the noise. The only support my company were willing to offer was to get a desktop from them or work on my laptop, which I have been since this started in case it was a virus or malware.

As far as I know all Norton stuff has been removed now.

If you got this PC from work it could be set up as work wants it to be.

Have you contacted the I.T. department at work?

If it was my computer to use from work for work that would be the first thing I would do.

It's in a box on it's way back to the manufacturer. Every fix I tried was adding error events and it's still starting to show other problems.

Thanks for all your help guys, but I think a wipe and reinstall are called for, although I'm pretty sure it's hardware.

Let us know how it works when the computer gets back to you.

Does your company have any requirements what your home work computer must have and not have?

Do they allow things to be done on this work computer that are not work related?
My understanding is it varies from company to company.

Just going to use my work laptop from now on, no work on my home PC. If my company aren't going to support it when it breaks then I'm not going to let them use my equipment.
