I tried SuperAntiSpyware and then uninstalled it. Rebooted. Ran Denfels' Registry Editor (had over a year - no problems except no support). Rebooted. Now everytime I try to use MS Internet Explorer 9, I get the message "A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer" It shows Adobe Flash and Adobe Sytems Inc. I have then uninstalled Adobe Flash. Rebooted. Then the message is gone except now most websites dont work. Install Adobe Flash the the wonderful message is back. Sometimes up to six times a web page. Yes I have checked the dont show this error message and hit dont allow. It doesn't matter how many times you check the box and click dont allow, it still stops what ever you thought you were doing. Ran Zone Alarm Extreme Security virus scan - nothing. Ran Malware - nothing. Both in deep mode.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I surely would appreciate the help:shock:

I am not familiar with Ran Denfels' Registry Editor, but most of the ones I have used provide a prompt to backup the registry before making changes. Does this one prompt for a backup? If so, try to resotre the one prior to the changes.

Another suggestion, try a system restore to a time before the problem surfaced.

theaudioanalyst,

Contact the superantispyware chaps and see what they have for a recommendation.

Uninstall Denfel's Registry Editor.

Completely unneeded and can only cause problems.

================================
with that said, here is an approach I've used to get rid of some troublesome processes left behind after removing software:

Run Autoruns.exe as administrator.
Let autoruns populate everything.
Go searching through all of the tabs looking for anything from the superanitspyware chaps.
When you find something from them, then first disable, then delete.

RESIST THE URGE to change anything else. This is a powerful program and dangerous if not used correctly. You will see entries that you think that you don't need. Just let them be.

Here's the link for autoruns:

One possibility is that Adobe wants to run an update which they do frequently. If that is the case, I suggest to do the update.

Okay, I tried a restore. No success. To get here I had to use Chrome. IE9 was totally hosed. Adobe is not doing an update BTW. That would be too good to be true. Is there a re / install for IE 9 that anyone knows about? Thanks and I will try the next suggestion.

Ran autoruns and wow there are lots and lots more things running than one would expect. Nothing from the SuperAntiVirus chaps however. I suspect the problem was something deleted on the uninstall. Next is the rescue disk.

If any other suggestion you got didn't work, its worth trying this.
Reinstall the Denfel optimizer once again, but without running the program, then install Revo Uninstaller which also helps to clean the registry and the files it is left over after an uninstallation of that certain program. The Pro version is trial for 30 days and has a more advance search techniques than the free one. Reboot.

SuperAntiSpyware will certainly NOT hurt your computer! As said above, I'm not familiar with Denfel optimizer, either ... no doubt, that app may have caused part of the problem!

Adobe will only tell you if there is an update when you start your computer, not on a web page. If you see this trying to view a web page, then it is a bogus message!

Please download (free version) Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop
Malwarebytes Special Offer!
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. Copy and Paste that log into your next reply.

Thank you all for your comments. I repeat that this all started when I installed SuperAntiSpyware and uninstalled it. The issues started right after the uninstall. I went to them for support and they categorically said that they were not involved. Okay, so the message I left them was "Too bad you don't know when you are in the forest"! Since the problem was with IE9 I uninstalled and reinstalled IE9. From there it simply got worse and unbearable. At this point the system was basically unuseable. I low level formatted the two drives after backing up the data, and have reinstalled the 700,000 plus files that I maintain in this system. This unfortuneately took lots of time. MS had over 280 updates and the total updates from all software vendors exceeded 1.6 Terra Bytes. Then I had to go to a tech class and that is why I have not responded to you guys. Today I am back and the system is running fine. I did not install Denfel's Registry Maintainence. While I understand that many are using SuperAntiVirus with no issues, when I uninstalled it, in this sytem, that was the start of the meltdown that cost me well over 61 hours of work - a loss of well over a week of time. I am back and I more than apprecite your help. I have backed up the system for two consecutive days now JIC! THANKS!

Glad to hear all is will.

Although I do not equate SuperAnti-anything with the source of your problem, I am opposed to its use.

Use MSE, Microsoft Security Essentials. Link in my signature.
