Superantispyware (Product Update)

Hello all..I hope we're all well.

I was wondering if anybody have been experiencing what I have since the Product update that popped up a day Or so, now for, superantispyware.

Each and every time when I reboot Or close down, Windows will stall/hang for about 3/4/5 seconds, then continue to follow up with my request.

As soon as I uninstalled SAS Rebooting and shut downs went back to normal again.

I really do not wish to give up on SAS because I use this program quite frequently, and I have been using this program now for a good few years.

If you are using the free version just go into msconfig/Startup and uncheck SAS.

Yes it was the free version that I was using, Bear. I will give it another shot, then report back.

Hi,
I haven't seen any issue but then again I didn't have sas startup with windows or install a startup item
So are you aware how your settings are ?
I do have the pro version so if it were doing anything freaky I imagine I would notice,

SAS has settings to uncheck to Not start with windows use them not msconfig

Thank you both for being so informative. I just re-installed the FREE SAS and now experiencing the same when rebooting and closing down. Which is making me scratch my head, for the years that I have had SAS, nothing like this has ever occurred before, for the many years of use.

Now since following your directions, Thrash,...By unchecking the above shut downs and restarts are now running flawlessly.

Do you have any idea, since updating why it has choose to do, what I have described? Out of curiosity.

Hi,
Well some have said it's getting a bit resource hungry so I guess it depends on how much you have to spare
The free version wouldn't matter if it starts with windows or not because all it basically is a scanner which does I believe scan on a schedule on the freebie I can't remember that one,
But either way fill in your system spec's completely with the link above my signature and we'll have a better idea at what you have to work with,

Also go back to msconfig and take some screen shots of the Startup section and Services don't forget to check the box on the bottom left to Hide All Microsoft services the list will be allot shorter

Well seeing Eset and Mcafee is not good
Neither is 3 unknown listing on your startup I suppose that is your taskbar tweaker ?
Well you have plenty of memory

I am more then sure that the two top "Unknowns" Have got something to do with my sound card. And it' is labeled "HsMgr64.exe Envoke" I do have a Xonar Audio Center in my taskbar

And the bottom "Unknown" Is stating the following...Desktop.C:\Users\HomePC\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. If that one makes sense to you?

To be perfectly honest I have never had any type of conflict with ESET and Mcafee Site Advisor. *Touch wood*

Never say never we see nothing but problems when Mcafee is anywhere around

I have had my fair share of issues in the past with Norton and Mcafee. And am, I glad that I jumped ship when I did!

Mcafee Site Advisor is a small program that advisers you what sites are safe and which are not. I don't have any other programs that are related to Mcafee Or Norton for that matter. Excluding all suites etc

If you need a filtered web buy the lifetime license to malwarebytes and dump Mcafee of what ever nature you have installed,
Another common item for a filtered web is WOT Web of trust,
Get it it's free :/

I totally agee with ThrashZone.
If a programs has anything to do with McAfee remove it forever.
Your computer system will love you for doing so.

Thanks guys for all of your help..I won't be able to get back to my computer now until' next week. I will give WOT Web of trust a whirl and delete Mcafee Site Advisor.

Is WOT Web of just such as effective?

Most people that use WOT seem to like it,
I don't use it so I can't say :/
But as I stated earlier MBAM Pro/ Premium does the best job at blocking/ filtering malicious sites
WOT goes by user ratings I believe,
Not the same thing by any real standard

If unwilling to wait for 4 seconds for Windows to shutdown the running programs/processes prior to shutdown, which is normal, could you not simply right click/exit SAS from the right hand side of the taskbar prior to shutting down? (windows will pretty much hesitate on any running programs during shutdown; I'm not sure I'd be concerned that shutdowns now don't occur in 2.5 seconds total with SAS running; is there some hurry to shutdown properly in 'x-5 seconds' amount of time?)
