Superimposed windows 7 welcome screen

I have just upgraded my Toshiba U400 Laptop from Vista to Windows 7. I am using the Toshiba fingerprint scanner for auto login. I get the welcome screen with what appears to be two welcome screens superimposed over each other.
At the top of the screen I have the message Please scan your finger for auto login. Underneath that in roughly the same position is written "fingerprint system not available"
Also on the screen are two of the same username login icon for regular login.
The fingerprint login works, but I want to clean up the Welcome Screen.
Any ideas would be helpful.

Does rebooting reproduce the error?

no everytime I reboot the same thing occurs. It has got to be something with the finger scanner, but I do not know where to look in regedit

Ok you used the upgrade DVD, but did you upgrade or a clean install? If an upgrade, it may be best to start over and do a clean install.

If you did an upgrade this may just be the beginning of your problems.

I agree with richc46 on this one. A clean install will eliminate the possibility of problems being carried over from the old OS. What was the reason you upgraded from Vista?

Did clean install

I did a clean install and everything works fine. I think the problem was with the Fingerprint scanner on the Toshiba laptop. Windows seemed to be calling it up twice or something.
