You get the supporter badge for donating to the site.

The Rank badge - Power user is the one you posted - has to be earned.

You get rep points when people click the little grey scales - the middle one on the top right of this post.

They should give you a rep point if you have helped them.

When you have enough points, you get the rank badges.

Thank you very much for the information, I was looking all over the site to find out this information.

Is there a specific thread that explains the different badges and point breakdown?

Would like to thank you for your help in answering my question about the reps and badges...

I am really looking forward to helping as many as possible with their Windows 7 problems and gaining reps and badges...

That was a decent guesture and well appreciated, they (badges) add a touch of class to what was a rather bleak looking members area without them.
