I swapped my Win 7 SSD boot drive from a AMD MB/CPU to an Intel MB/CPU.
Win 7 did not seem to redo all the drivers in Device Manger.
Can't really do a clean reinstall of Win 7 because I need to save a some programs as they are.
Is there a way for using my Win 7 disk (Home-64-bit) to have the OS go in a reset up all the Device Manger drivers.

Hi and welcome to seven forums.
Your method is most certainly not the best way to do what you are doing.
A fresh install of the OS and a new install on that OS of all your other software is the best method.
However, you need to load the new mother board drivers from the new mother board disk that it was supplied with.
If you have no disk then go to the M/B website and download the latest and install them.
Then your Device Manager tree should be correct.

I downloaded a lot of the drivers from the MB website, but get errors when trying to install drivers.
Would like to wipe everything from Device Manger and let Win 7 reinstall everything in Device manger.
Did it once a long time ago, but forgot how I did it?

Windows update does not always find all the drivers you need, so I woudn`t do that. Just keep searching you`ll find them.

Don`t you have the MB cd ?

Do not have the motherboard CD, bought the motherboard used (Asrock Z77 Extreme 4).
But downloaded the latest drivers directly from Asrock.

But now does not matter.
Decided to buy the i5-7600K and a motherboard and memory.
Already have a Samsung SM951 256GB m.2 and Win 8 disk, new case and power supply
So will really just build a new system.
Guess I will have to just reload all the programs fresh.

If you have the License Key for that Windows 8 disc, you could install Windows 10 instead and use the W8 key to activate Windows 10

Windows 10 is much better then W8 :)

Here is the Windows 10 download site.

Download Windows 10

I've heard Win 10 reports back a lot of stuff to Microsoft, just not sure how much stuff, do not like someone looking into what I do everyday.

You should've disconnected to the internet, go to device manager and uninstall all the drivers related to the AMD motherboard, proceed to installing the new motherboard and download the drivers.

For me it was simple since the chipset still uses the same driver (From G31 to P35).

All the AMD driver stuff is no longer listed in device manger, at least not showing any.
But I decided to build a newer system (Win 8), with a new SM961 SSD drive (2200 read/1500 write).
I just buy an new boot drive for the old Win 7 system and give it to my nephews.
