HI,

Has anybody tried Switch Off 3.2? I am interested in this software but have heard nothing about it. Is it good? and Will it damage the system if you always force shutdown your applications? Thank you

Looks interesting. Let us know how it is if you try it.

If the software worked properly, it mentions nothing of forced shutdown in the description. I imagine it would just send your PC to standard boot down.

it would forced shutdown,, for example.. you are downloading something and you estimated it would be finished after 2 hours,, and you need to go somewhere else.. if you set a countdown for 3 hours,, then it would probably forced shutdown the applications you opened.

I have used ShutDown, It does what it says. It closes all open screens instantly,

The drawback is that it does not take time to save any data. Other than that, If you have lots of open windows it is a great way to clean everything at once.

is it harmful to have your applications forced shutdown always?

is it harmful to have your applications forced shutdown always?

unless you have open documents and data which need to be saved during this time then no...
you should probably not have files such as these open in the first place...;)
you can do something like this along the lines using task scheduler and shutdown.exe which is a standard way of using cmd to shutdown and reboot in a timely fashion
