Hi guy's just wondering if it's possible to get windows 7 to switch audio drivers when you switch to another user account.

For eg.. normal speakers device for my personal account and then have my multichannel device (profire 2626) set as default for my other user account 4 studio work.

Atm, if i change it on one account it changes on the other account which is annoying and i'd just like to set default device for each account so i don't have to do this.

Thx

I don't think this is really possible since the sound settings apply globally. I'm curious why you want to do this, though...

Well, the PC i use is in my recording studio. It's my personal pc and the pc i use for studio work. Hence two user profiles.
I have normal speakers connected to the onboard sound card, and expensive studio monitors connected to the audio interface (profire 2626) which i don't want to use for general day to day things like playing games and listening to normal music, movies, etc.

So thats why i'm always changing back and fourth between onboard sound and the 2626.
I mean, i could have the normal speakers running off the 2626 as well through it's other outputs but i'd rather not.

The other option is dual booting... but i've gone through that and there's more negatives than positives for me.

So yeah.. it's a shame i can't just set defaults for each user. I had a feeling it this may have been the case. Ahh well... what do u do aye. I'll have to just change it manually every time i switch.

Thx
