switching hyperthreading on & off from the OS ?

(not from the bios!) how can i to switch HT off and on again from Windows operating systems? (intel uttiels ,tools)

For a number of technical reasons this is not possible.

I think it very likely that the CPU would only permit a change in Hyperthreading state in real mode, before Windows starts.

Changing Hyperthreading state would change the number of cores seen by the thread scheduler and raise a number of other issues as well. Windows 7 does not support this while it is running. Windows 7 has a boot option to change the number of cores but this requires a reboot, and it does not effect Hyperthreading.

Hyperthreading can only be changed in the BIOS.
