Switching Monitors

Hello,

Have a new PC running W7 hooked up to a new LG monitor using a digital DVI connection.

Have an older PC running XP into a CRT monitor (VGA).

Any practical way to use the new LG monitor with both/either PC's ?
To be able toselect which PC the monitor is reading ?

I looked at the OSD choices on the LG, and didn't see any "switch input" choice.

I guess a switch box would do it.
Any other technique(s) ?

The only method that I'm aware of is a KVM switch:

EDIT: A passing thought...does your LG monitor have multiple input connections? Not sure it would work, even if it did, but mine has a place to choose the input source.

KVM Switch is the best way to achieve this goal. KVM Switches are also fairly cheap check out amazon.com

or you could purchase a cheap videocard with a dvi input.

I have a notebook with W7 and a desk pc with Win XP working with only one keyboard, monitor and mouse. The device used is, as the other members recommended, a KVM switch. It's the cheapest, easy and fast way to use more than one pcs: you plug al the wires and with one button you switch from one to the other.
But not every KVM works fine with newest OS (like Vista or W7) and my recomendation is that you should buy a USB-KVM switch because, in case you need it, you will find a "USB to PS-2 port" adaptator who works ok but not in the other way: "PS-2 to USB port". I mean: you may find them but in my experience they didn't worked.
