I've always hated IE and loved Firefox, but Firefox seems to be going downhill on the stability side. Mine crashes all the time, even without extensions or anything. IE8 is performing very very well for me on Windows 7. I hate to say this, but I think Firefox is dying.

have had firefox do that to me before -- a complete uninstall (wiping all user files) then reinstall recovered it -- bookmarks/passwords etc all backed up so nothing lost ..... never thought of going back to IE, never had to.
First browser I used much was netscape whose code firefox is based on ... didn't think much of IE when it came along with Win95 ... nothing much changes there

Smart move. I had so much trouble with FF that I banned it from my systems. IE has always worked great for me.

Hmmmm.....wonders to myself what people do with FF to make it work poorly. I've used it exclusively for years with almost no problems whatsoever. I don't think I've really "used" IE since about IE5 times.

I have several other similar browsers installed. Maybe they are conflicting? Firefox crashes every single time I run it. Instantly. Sometimes it even eats up 100% of the core it runs on and causes other processes to crash. I've even seen it eat up 6 GB of my RAM om ly laptop (has 8 GB total DDR3). It makes me sad to see a Core i7 740 QM crippled like that too.

instant crashes of firefox --- experienced a few like that -- deleting all cookies fixed it in earlier versions -- somehow! --- these days I have programs like Ccleaner that help clean out firefox

multiple browsers here ... no conflicts ... have some isolated in portableapps too
