I need help with this please, I'm not really an expert in technology, so I think I may have done something wrong.

So here's what happened:

I got tired of my laptop's shutdown being a bit slow, so I went to figure out how to solve it. A forum stated to use the Msconfig' option which only shut down all the drivers when I used basic mode. When I activated normal mode again, everything was fine.

So I decided to see if I could change the mouse pointing, and I get a message saying the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver is not connected and the icon that appears on the windows 7 tray is gone.

Did the driver become removed during that incident or?

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums .. You might need to Re-Install the Driver ..

Go to your Laptops Manufacturer Website and Download the Driver ...

Alright then, I'm going to do that right now. I know this also doesn't relate to the topic, but the password hint doesn't seem to appear anymore as well. I know the user account isn't corrupt though.

[EDIT]: Okay so I went into my computer folder and found the icon for the pad: I clicked it and the icon re-appears.

It did work, but here's the weird thing:

The driver is installed, but won't appear on the Windows 7 tray unless I go to my computers folder and click on the icon.

Every.time.

It's very strange as to how and why it keeps doing that.

I'll test that. I'll get back to you if it worked or not.
