Hello Djscy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you are part of a domain, then you will have to check with the domain administrator for permission to install these instead. You will not be able to bypass it.

If not, then you might check to see if there may have been a rule set in AppLocker to not install these types of programs.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/7844-applocker-create-new-rules.html

Hope this helps,
Shawn

DJscy,

Oops, I missed that you had Home Premium. Sorry about that.

If you would post back a screenshot of your registry (regedit) at the Explorer key locations below showing all of the right pane of them. I'll take a look to see if there may be a entry there that is responsible for not allowing you to install the programs.

DJ,

You do not have anything in these locations that would prevent you from installing these files, but it looks like you have this solved for .msi files anyways now. :)

The iTune installation is a completely different issue, but I'm not familiar with it though.

If you have Bonjour installed, deactivate it from the system configuration. Also set it as 'disabled' in Services. Reboot and see if you can install iTunes now.

Let's see what VEW shows ... Please download VEW by Vino Rosso http://images.malwareremoval.com/vino/VEW.exe
and save it to your desktop
Double click it to start it Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to right click the file and select Run as administrator and click Continue or Allow at the User Account Control Prompt.
Click the check boxes next to Application and System located under Select log to query on the upper left
Under Select type to list on the right click the boxes next to Error and Warning Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 also click the box next to Critical (not XP).
Under Number or date of events select Number of events and type 20 in the box next to 1 to 20 and click Run

Once it finishes it will display a log file in notepad
Please copy and paste its entire contents into your next reply
