I had to reboot the system to get it back. How do I restart the backup from where I was? Don't tell me I have to start all over and have wasted 9 disc's please. By the way I am using win 7.

HI and welcome to the Forum
Do you not have an external Hard Drive? If not are you in a position to purchase one as I think you will have continuous problems trying to back up to DVD's. As you have found just one iffy disc and it all goes wrong. If you can obtain an external drive try Macrium Reflect for image back ups.

Will the free version work? The thing is I have already gone thru 9 discs and would like to get it started up again and finish it. It was almost done. Been running for 15 hours. Just don't know how to get it started back up where it left off.

If you mean will Macrium work with DVD's! Yes it will but if you have another iffy disc that will not be the fault of the software. You haven't said if an external HD is an option for you?

If you used Windows Backup to make the first 9 discs, you wouldn't be able to make the 10th or 11th disc with Macrium.

DVDs are a notoriously poor way to back up a C partition.

The discs are likely wasted and your best move is to back up to a hard drive by starting over with either Windows Backup or Macrium---preferably Macrium.

If you are backing up C, you have to store the backup file somewhere other than C; preferably on an entirely different drive--which can be internal or external.
