System Boot problem

I am unable to boot my system as it is not moving forward after the windows start up screen. I am using Original Windows 7 home Edison. Not even that i am unable to repair or reinstall windows. Even the recovery DVD is not working. I have no idea what to do, can anyone tell me it's solution.

When you say "Even the recovery DVD is not working" what happens when you try to use it: Does the drive spin up? Do you receive a message on the screen? If so, what is the message?

Thank's for the help and useful link. I have gone through the process and finds that I am performing it right way. Fortunately this time failures to boot disk is not user error.

Yes the Drive spin up but still no response. NO message comes on the screen, just the screen with Microsoft Windows logo. DVD drive of the laptop is working fine. Every DVD inserted in it spins but does not work. Same result comes when I tried a different DVD drive.

Check your BIOS settings to see if booting off the cd/dvd drive is enabled. Once you have checked/changed that, give it a try. Regardless of how damaged your OS may be, you should still be able to run the Recovery CD if you boot straight from it.

Where did you get Win7? How is the DVD burned? Try downloading another copy of the official Win7 installer from the link provided, burn to DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed or the Windows Download tool linked. Do you get a prompt to Press Any Key to Boot disk?

I double checked my BIOS settings, nothing is wrong there...

Hello All,
I take my laptop to a computer repair shop, where I got to know that this is basically a problem in hard disk due to bad sector. Is this possible and if yes what can be possible solution? According to that person only solution is change of hard disk.

Check the condition of the HD using the maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan which should boot itself.

If it fails the test then it needs replacement. If not run a full Disk Check from the Command Line in the System Recovery Options.

If it passes both tests the HD is OK.

If you still cannot boot a disk to do these tests and the tests given in the link earlier, unplug the HD to see if it disk will boot. If it won't then the HD needs to be wiped with Diskpart Clean Command. You may need to move the HD to another laptop or connect it via USB converter cable to do this, or use Partition Wizard or the HD DIagnostics CD which will boot itself.
