System File Check

I have a question about SFC. I'm using Windows 7Pro 64 bit. I did an anytime upgrade to Pro so the disk that I have to use in the computer is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Can I use this to do a system file check even though it is now a Pro version?

it should be ok - the install discs in fact contain all the versions - only the serial key determines what gets installed.

You dont need the disk to run the file checker it can be run from inside windows

Just out of interest Mickey does it matter on version ie 32bit 64bit I have a friend whos disk is scratched but he is 32bit im 64bit.

make your own universal install disc here.

even better, stick it on a 4 gig usb stick.

I am not able to run sfc /Scannow or any of the sfc parameters from elevated comand prompt or from teh repair option when i boot from DVD.

I always get "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation." error.

I have even run chkdsk without any errors being reported.

Any help to solve this is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know where the DRM Folder is located in windows 7?
I can acess it in xp,but I cannot find it in windows 7.There were an average 220 DRM files in XP.When you address these files correctly you can burn flawlessly and burn anything you want.Backing up movies and CD music is no problem when you can acess the drm files and treat them accordingly.
