Hey everyone,
This is my first post here and you guys are the only thing keeping me from sending back my 1-day old MSI CX500DX laptop back to the retailer for servicing. As i said i bought my laptop yesterday and installed win 7 on it. It came as a free OS machine. Second off i installed the usual programs, firefox, avira, utorrent etc. First BSOD happened while i was watching utorrent download something. It was a STOP 0x000124 BsOD. They continued usually after 10-20 minutes of laptop up-time. Today i installed the latest video/audio/lan drivers from the msi site. Surprise surprise! BsOD stopped but constant freezes came along. Same thing, after 10-20 mins of laptop up-time it freezes forcing me to restart the computer manually. It happened like so all day and 5 mins ago, i got another BsOD. Same one, stop 0x124. As i am not totally sure how to create a minidump .rar etc, i will be back with that later on. Does anyone have an idee as to what this can be or how to solve it? As i mentioned earlier the laptop is brand new, with a full 2-year warranty and if i can't solve this with your guys help i am forced to send it back to the retailer, but i sure hope there will be no need for that.

  2. Double-click System.
  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  4. Check Write an even to the system log, and Automatically restart.

On another note: stop 0x124 is a hardware related issue, but i will need the dump files to investigate any further.

You can refer to this thread in the mean time for reading information things you can try and if anything in the thread is something you tried with no success or something you have done. Ex. Overclocking etc.. Let me know.

You uploaded Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2.EXE and not the folder :). and as stated already by me and Yowan it does appear to be a hardware error.

If indeed thats the case your laptop only being 2 days old i would return it and let them fix it, as it should be well under warranty.
