system freezing and BSOD

hey so i just switched from my original OS which was vista home premium to windows 7 professional x86 and my computer now freezes randomly the HDD stops flashing. no matter how long i leave it sit it wont come out of it. this usually happens after my computer has been in sleep mode or hibernate. also when you shut down it flashes a screen filled with colored lines (possibly a BSOD) it will flash this for a few seconds then automatically restart. the screen will come up saying that i can start it from safe mode, safe mode with command, or regular. if i select regular and then log in a box comes up saying that an error has occurred and it checks online for solution. i have also had my screen flash and a message comes up that a driver has failed but then its usually fine again. at one point i did a system restore and this has not solved my problem.. does anyone have any idea what my problem could be. please help

Hi.

It's hard to tell from the site, but this may be the chipset driver package. You can try this out if it is and see if it fixes it. The 4th one down - Utility.

so i did that and it seemed to fix that problem it hasnt froze or blue screened yet.. but now it my screen randonly changes colors, flashes, and mirrors the background in half. but this usually stops after a few seconds. is there anything i can do to fix this?

Install the latest video adapter driver from ATI's or NVIDIA's site, whichever you have. You're welcome.

I tried that but it says my video adapter driver is up to date, I checked the website to and it says its up to date. It happens every time i move my laptop screen.

There's something physically damaged or maybe just loose inside.
