System freezing

Everything is up to date. Anything else I should do in the mean time?

What display driver is installed now? Did Windows Update deliver one?

If the freezing persists keep uninstalling Display driver until it defaults to Standard VGA and then run Windows Update after reboot.

If this is the Windows Update driver and freezing persists, import the latest driver only (no software package) from Nvidia. After install turn off all Nvidia in msconfig>Startup and >Services (after Hiding all MS Services).

Yes windows did provide one. I have a GTX 560 Ti by the way. Here's the driver version: 9.18.13.2018

Well, thanks a lot guys. It seems that the problem is fixed (fingers crossed). I haven't had a crash since I re-installed the recommended windows driver. It seems weird that I was having issues with the stable NVIDIA drivers, but I'll just use the ones that windows chooses from now on. If I don't have a freeze in a week then I'll mark the thread as solved.

Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

With the most recent freeze, I waited for a little bit and my first monitor became a solid blue color and my second monitor became solid white.

Use just one monitor at a time. One then the other and see if you can isolate the problem. Might help and might not but it's free.

I've been away for a few days so no freezes yet. I did get the message saying that the driver stopped working and recovered which I mentioned before. Here's an image of it.

Edit: NVIDIA just released a new driver which may help with my issues, here's an excerpt from a techspot article about it:

Coinciding with last week's release of the GeForce GTX 760, Nvidia dropped a set of 320.49 beta drivers which were welcomed by gamers with mixed feedback. Today, Nvidia has released a WHQL version of its 320.49 driver which hopefully sets right the issues (e.g. freezing, BSODs, image corruption) reported by some beta users.

Since it mentions that it fixes all 3 issues that I've been having I'm going to give it a try.
