Solved System Reserve Delete

Hi

i am using Windows 7 sony vaio.i want to reinstall different version so how to format my HD C drive? i am also installed windows 7 on L drive so i want to delete reserve system.

Are you trying to format the entire hard drive or a partition ?

If you want to wipe the entire drive do the followering boot off the disc or USB flash drive

Press enter when you see the screen that says Press any key to boot from cd or DVD…( image below )

When you get to this screen ( image below )

Press Shift and F10 . You will get a command prompt window . It should open up to X:\Sources . In there input these commands and press enter after each line .

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0
CLEAN
CREATE PRIMARY PARTITION 
SELECT PARTITION 1 
ACTIVE 
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="Windows 7 OS" QUICK 
ASSIGN LETTER=C
EXIT
EXIT

Back on the image above press Install Now . Check the I accept the license terms box and click on Next. Click on the Custom (advanced) option. Then choose
Disk 0 Partition 1: Window (C:\) and click Next

When it reboots don't press any keys it will continue on its own

Why do you want to install a different version on your Sony VAIO which comes with a $100+ Win7 license and is the exact same OS as all other versions except they have a few other expensive features which most users don't need.

If you're having problems we can help with them or you can do the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 . It explains in the tutorial how to decide which partitions to keep. It also shows you how to get and keep a perfect install.

I would use the licensed version on your COA sticker unless you have a specific extra feature you need.

How do you plan to activate the higher version?
