System Reserved missing from performed recovery.

I have just felt quite pleased on completing a recovery after an unexplained system crash, and I did think all was well until I noticed that the file in my title was not present as it always used to be.

I remember it being aroung 100 mb in size, and wonder if it is an essential requirement, and if so can it be obtained and added from anywhere.

The computer seem so far to be working ok but I would like to be sure.

If you want to recover your system without inserting a DVD all the time,it's essential. If you don't mind,it's not. Also,if you want BitLocker,you need System Reserved.

:info: System Reserved is the partition where recovery tools,Windows Boot Manager and BitLocker reside. If you don't have System Reserved,Windows Boot Manager will be in C:,BitLocker and recovery tools won't be available. So,if you want System Reserved available,reinstall Windows.

System Recovery Options are in fact available via F8 Advanced Boot Options with no System Reserved partition. They boot from a folder on C.

In the past using EasyBCD to move the Bootmgr - Move to C:\ with EasyBCD
did not include the F8 Recovery link, until about a year ago when I asked its author Mahmoud to fix this so we could link it rather than the previously prescribed Mark Partition Active followed by Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times .

I have found when you use BCD to move Bootmgr from C:\ to another partition yes the F8 option exists now but the Repair my computer entry in some cases is there but will fail to load I found the easiest way to fix that is to :
Open an elevated command prompt and enter these commands :
reagentc /disable
reagentc /enable
