I've neglected this problem for too long and I would like to get it resolved.
My sys restore is not saving ANY restore points, except for the very last one that is an auto one created by Win7. If I manually create one, it will appear in the list for the time being, but if I shut down or restart the computer, it will not be there the next time I check. I'm running Win 7 64 pro . I have restore set to ON for the drive and have the space set to 15 gb . Any help would be appreciated .

It sounds like something you have in auto startup might be deleting restore points.
The first thing i would do is manually create a restore point.
Don't run any cleanup utilities before restarting.

Then restart the PC in Safe Mode and see if the restore point is still there.
Safe Mode

I tap the F8 key when the PC is booting to select Safe Mode when i want it.
