System Restore USB?

I know you can create system restore Disc (DVD) but is it possible to do the same to a 4G USB stick drive?

Seems it would be a lot easier to care for than a potentially scratching up a DVD over time.

Why this isnt an option in Win 7 is beyond me....I think the whole world is moving away from optical discs....

anyone direct me or give me step by step guidelines?
