Ok, so here's what happened, I was trying to play a DVD today and it didn't work, so I went to device manager and my DVD adapter had some error 19 where the registry or driver was corrupt or something. The only thing I did differently in the past couple of days was delete and reinstall iTunes, and I think I pressed something that says to make it the default player. So I did a update driver, I did a uninstall and reinstall and nothing happened. So then it was reccommended to do a restore, I did a restore for like 2 days ago when I did the iTunes thing and now my computer is stuck at system restore is restoring the registry and its been like this for 2 hours!! Everywhere online days it could take up to 45 mins. I don't understand what's happening. Please help!!!

Hello Areialdenise and welcome to Seven Forums.

Is the computer still stuck or has it finally finished the system restore? If it's still stuck, this is one of those rare times when you should use the main power button to shut down the computer. Hold the power button down for at least 15 seconds or until the screen goes black and you no longer hear the hard drive spinning. Try restarting the computer. You may get a warning (black screen with white letters) that Windows did not shut down properly. It may offer to run a Check Disk. Let it. This check could run for more than an hour looking for hard drive errors so be patient.

If the computer starts up normally without any warning screen, I'd still run a manual Check Disk.

When that finishes I'd also run a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and restart the computer immediately after each scan finishes.

Please post back the status of your computer to see if any other corrective action needs to be taken.
