System Tray Folder?

Hey guys.

I am currently having difficulty with rocketdock. Before you think "this doesn't belong on this forum", let me explain what I am trying to do, and then what I need to know.

I am trying to find a way to make it so that if I have a window that is "closed/minimized" to the system tray (because I use taskbar hider, I need to), I am able to see them on rocketdock and actually use the "right-click" options (because if I try to right-click the icon for a shortcut, for example steam, it just brings up the rocketdock options instead.

So what I need, although I'm not sure if it will work, is to know if there is a folder location for the "system tray", or if you know a different method that could allow me to do what I mentioned above.

Thanks in advance for any help, and if you need me to make myself more clear, just say so.

I don't think it's possible. Rocketdock wasn't made for that. It was made to allow users to have quick access to files as well as to keep desktop clean.

It's not possible, sorry!

Basically, what Windows7HelpGuy said, but allow me to elaborate.

The System Tray is a special taskbar location that can be used by programs to display status icons and notifications. But this you already now. However, unlike the antiquated quick launch or the start menu, there is no folder that stores shortcuts or somesuch that determines which icons to display. The icons being displayed in the system tray are optionally added by running programs, and then only if that program was specifically written to support icons in the system tray.

So if you want RocketDock to "clone" the system tray icons, then whatever programs place icons there must also have been written to detect the presense of rocketdock.

Oh, and I'm not sure if you know this, but by using RocketDock instead of the taskbar, you're actually losing out on some of the coolest features of the taskbar, such as pinned icons and enhanced right-click menus ("Quick Lists" I think they're called...)

Alright. Well, the main reason I have rocketdock is just cause the skin I'm using looks nicer (vistablack) and I sort of got this idea in my head that I want my desktop to be somewhat customized (I started using Rainmeter).
So, I guess a better alternative would be to just find a way of changing the skin of the windows taskbar, and pinning all my things to that?
I will say what I keep on rocketdock / why and maybe you guys can help me find better ways:

So, I like to have everything that I use accessible with a single click from the desktop. Because of this, I have put shortcuts to things like "My Computer, User Folder, My Documents, Music, and even the GEF (which took me a while to figure out how to do so with a stack option)". I keep all those seperated from my applications like Firefox, Media Player, MSN, etc.
Now, I can't remember since it's been a while since I've used the actual taskbar now, but is it possible to make shortcuts to folders on it? I remember that it IS possible to change the icons for applications, but would it be possible to do so for the folders shortcuts as well? If so, then I will probably switch back to the regular taskbar as it's not worth the hassle of bringing up taskbar magic and unhiding it each time I need to use the system tray.
Also, if somebody could maybe let me know if it's possible to change ONLY the skin of the taskbar, to maybe one that resembles the "VistaBlack" skin on rocketdock, it would be much appreciated (I would need a tutorial on how to apply it)
Oh and one more thing...
"enhanced right-click menus ("Quick Lists" I think they're called...)"
What do these do and how do I set them up?

That should be it, thank you in advance for any help :D

I'm not sure, but I would suggest you visit the rocketdock websites and look under the Add-on section. They usually come up with new hacks and ways to improve and edit rocketdock. Search around for what you want.

no I meant to the Windows Taskbar. If you guys can help me with the things I asked in the post right before yours, than I won't need to use Rocketdock anymore.

I found two solutions
1) "Tray popup", for rocketdock. This file actually didn't work for me but there was a lot of positive feedback in the comments.
2) Hold down windowskey + b, and the tray pops up. This is the method I'm going to be using.

Just thought I'd post back to let you guys know this thread is solved, and hopefully this might help someone in the future.
Before I go, if anyone has a link to a list of similar, handy shortcuts such as the winkey+b one, please PM me or post it here, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys :D
