Hello

Few days ago i had windows tell me that i had a bad HDD and that i needed to do a replacement of that HDD. Through windows i did a system copy to an external HDD - but had few errors as there where files that it could not find/copy. i inserted new HDD and restored my version windows backup.

It seemed to work fine - but I now got few Blue screens - (which i did not have before)

One time i saw that it was missing a DLL file - called api-ms-win-service-core-l1-1-0.dll which im able to find and download on the net - but im not sure where to put - or sure if that solves any problems.

Please help.

Thanks.

btw - i also did all updates etc. without result.
And i updatet my graphics drivers just now.

thanks for reply pauly - now i uploaded first the zip file.
I already ran the SCF to see if any files where missing - but it fdid not find any missing system files?

Hello Pauly

I now did all the above and would like to try to solve it like this.

As just mentioned in edit in original post I already ran the SFC command but it did not find missing files.

Then i uplaoded the zip file and i input system info.

Thanks for any help

I have to be honest i think this is beyond fixing, even your dumps are not loading correctly, the only thing i can extract is the dumps blaming your HDD i think it is interpretting the missing data as your HDD being faulty when its not obviously it was the old one, just to be sure i would test new drive, i see you have data lifeguard installed so im guessing you already have. IMHO i would try a repair install to see if it can save anything if not i would remove everything you want to save and go for a clean install

Sorry but i cant think of anything else

Too you could try checking the connections to the hard drive and the connections from the hard drive from the mother board.
