System won't start + gives QWCOM is compressed

I have a problem in that my HP 2133 notebook computer running Windows 7 won't start up. When I try to boot, I select "Windows 7" from my startup menu (it also has Ubuntu installed on a separate partition) and almost immediately I get the message:

QWCOM is compressed
Press Alt-Ctl-Del to restart

I had been having some problems with this PC prior to this problem in that when I selected certain folders the PC would reset - no BSOD.

I've tried searching the internet for "QWCOM" but there no mention of it whatsoever.

Yes - but none of them are relevant to my problem! Thanks anyway...

I think I'll try using a windows repair disk and move the file out of the way.

That gave me the impression that you couldn't find "QWCOM" on the internet.
That is the reason for my post.
