Cannot repair member file [l:22{11}]"t2embed.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-Font-Embedding, Version = 6.1.7601.17514, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, file cannot be checked

I then copied the good file from my win7 laptop but the system32 on my desktop does not allow me to replace the T2embed.dll with the one copied and working from the laptop.

Have you tried this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html it will not harm any data or programs you have installed it will check for corrupt system files and try to repair them.

To replace it you need to Take Ownership, Give Yourself Permission, and rename t2embed.dll to t2embed.bak.dll to replace it look at Post #6 of this thread will show you how to do that http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/179502-basic-networking-information.html#post1525656
If you are using 64-bit you will find that t2embed.dll in both C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64

t2embed.dll

I have use the elevated command prompt and did the scannow. It did not finish as stated before.
When I go to the file it does not allow me access and trying to get it so far have been fruitless.

t2embed.problem with scannow

After HOURS of trying and searching I found the culprit, it was the file t2embed.dll which needed to be replaced (which is very hard to begin with as a protected system file) in both windows, system 32 and in Windows WOW!
I copied the file from another working win7 computer.
Now I can scan 100% and no problems. Start-up of win7 still takes 158 seconds with very little automatically started and a 2.33Ghz machine though.

Glad you got it sorted Ritter197, Thank you for posting back and letting us know your fix :) Have a look in the startup folder and startup in msconfig and stop all unneeded progs from starting , seeif that speeds the win startup time ;)
