Tagging Recorded TV

Hi. Would anyone know how to rename or tag a recordedTV show in WMC? When I watch a recorded tv show in WMC, I may want to not delete it, instead leave it for others to watch at a later time.

Ideally I would like to rename the recorded tv show or drop an icon or avatar onto it. Any ideas?

You can rename WMC recorded TV files as any other file. Just open the folder where you save recorded TV, right click the file you want to rename, choose Rename from the menu and type the new name.

If you have chosen to show file extensions (Folder Options > View), be careful to change only the name but not the extension. WMC recorded TV file extension is wtv, and it should not be changed.

I did realise that technique, but the new name does not show up in WMC, only the old name. I presume this is because WMC must be picking up the old name from inside the file.

Being a bit technically proficient i can follow your advice, but my wife cannot, and WMC has become our preferred method for watching TV, recordedTV, playing music etc, etc, etc.

Hope you are listening Microsoft. What would be good would be to right click a recordedtv show in WMC and be able to choose from a few icons (like the smiles i see on this web page :devil:) that can be attached to a show, just like the "about to be deleted" icon does on an old recording when room is becoming short for new recordings.

Is there any kind of extension, plugin or extra that can already do this?
