I searched for a solution with no success.

I don't know how it happened and I can't figure out how to revert things back to normal.

Before, my Quick Launch resided in a fly-out menu on the far left of the task bar.

I have no idea how it came about, but now my Quick Launch consists of tiny icons with text strung out across the bottom of the task bar, underneath the normal icons.
At the far right, there is a little >> that, upon clicking, will reveal the overflow of the Quick Launch programs that did not fit.

I have searched for an answer and I have fiddled around trying to figure out how to fix this to no avail.

How do I fix ?
Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.

Hello BuckSkin, :-)

The tutorial below can help show you how to add Quick Launch back to the taskbar, and how to drag it back to the left side of the taskbar.

New Info:
I found an option in Task Bar > Properties >Toolbars to uncheck the box for Quick Launch.
I assumed that if I unchecked the box that the empty check-box would remain in case I wanted to check it again --- I unchecked the box, clicked "Apply", and the string of Quick Launch programs disappeared and my Task Bar was back to normal.
So far, so good.....

I went to recheck the box, thinking that maybe my Quick Launch menu would return to it's normal place; but, alas..., the option has disappeared.

Now I need to figure out how to get back my Quick Launch and it be in it's proper place down in the left corner.

Many thanks to Brink; now that I knew what to do, I copy/pasted the line "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" (without quotes) into the select folder dialogue, clicked the "Select Folder" button, and my Quick Launch magically reappeared, complete with all of my programs still right there; ---except, instead of in the left corner where I previously had it, it is now on the right end, immediately left of the little ^ that opens the "hidden icons" menu.
I am going to leave it there for a bit; as, I kinda think I might like it better in this new-to-me location; if later I decide I would rather have it back on the left end, then I will relearn just how on earth I got it there the last time.

Thanks again; and, I appreciate the help and assistance I always get from the people on this site.
