Hi,
I hope I'm posting this in the right place but ive been searching so much and found nothing:cry:. Here's the problem: when I open task manager to close unresponsive programs, none show up. occasionally some programs do show up but they go away before i can do anything. I will record it so you can see. the same happens with record/playback devices.

P.S. This is a pretty new copy of wondows and when I first put it on, everything was fine:confused:

Have a look at this tutorial brought to you by Brink. (not the new game) ::

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I'd definitely recommend running the System File Checker, as it will replace modified Windows files/processes with the original ones.

Occasionally, some malicious files like to "hide" the contents of the Task Manager, as well as remove the users permissions for the Task Manager, simply so that the user cannot stop whatever malicious process is pwning your computer.

[If some sort of malware attached itself to the taskmgr.exe file, running SFC should be able to fix it.]

Simple recommendation... maybe create a new profile and see if the problem exists on the new profile... if not, then maybe backup the Documents, Music, etc.. from the broken profile to the NEW profile, and delete the old profile.

Might be a last resort... honestly, if you don't want to "re-customize" your desktop, etc.. stick around and see if anyone else might have any decent solutions for you.

Sorry that I couldn't be of much assistance.

Didn't see any evidence of an Antivirus program on the system from the video. Do you have one running, or at least run full scans of the system with it yet?

You're very welcome. Sorry that you had to take the last resort, but atleast the issue is fixed. Also, as a security recommendation, lose AVG Free, and get something a little more secure (in my opionion)..

Say... Microsoft Security Essentials? :P

Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

Or, COMODO is giving away their Internet Security 2011 Suite (Professional Edition) absolutely free for one year. :)

Download Comodo Internet Security Pro

Out of personal experience, most of my customers/clients around my local area have actually had more infections with AVG installed, than users who use Microsoft Security Essentials. Could be the security itself, or could be their browsing habits, but then again, that's personal information that I do not request.
