I'm trying to print a gif file to keep my inkjet printer clear. I have over four gallons of ink with CISS so there's no need to buy new ink catridges, just trying to keep them from drying up. Also wake the pc if asleep. I really don't know much about this

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

You can use this line in a scheduled task to print the gif file.

mspaint /p C:\Users\username\Desktop\1.gif

Change the path to the file to the real file location.

Try making the scheduled task and post back if you have any problems.

Glad you got it working.

There are different levels of sleep - usually set by the computer's BIOS. Play with those settings at your own risk :-)

My solution

I needed this too, but with two printers on the system it was an issue, I could not get the /pt to work for me so I scheduled one task for each printer and switched the default printer before sending the print job.

For the HP Printer every 3 days at 12;28:00PM
RUNDLL32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /y /n "HP Deskjet 930C"
mspaint /p "C:\Users\RABSP\Pictures\Colour test page.jpg"

For the Canon every 3 days at 12:30:00PM
RUNDLL32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /y /n "Network Canon iP7200"
mspaint /p "C:\Users\RABSP\Pictures\Colour test page.jpg"

Hope this helps
