I scheduled a .exe file to run on IE event. However that task does not seem to be running. At them moment all the .exe does is make the notepad window active (just testing at the moment) but this is not happening. I think I may not be understanding how task manager works.

Any help is much appreciated.

I followed the tutorial. When I do anything in IE the program is not launched. I set the trigger as on event with Internet explorer as the log with the action being my .exe. But When I do anything in IE it does not trigger.

What IE event do you want to cause the trigger? Bringing up IE?

Ideally it would be on any IE event but when opening a tab would work. What I want to do is: I have a program that openes IE but obviously then loses focus to the IE window which I don't want so I set up this .exe to give focus back to the program.

The only events I see for IE is send an email, etc. Nothing for tab.... Dunno.

Perhaps if you described this program you have created in more detail, we can help you out. Right now, it doesn't make much sense to me. How exactly does your program open IE? Why would you want to open IE but not have it in focus? What is the end result you want from all of this, from start to finish?

I didn't create the program that opens IE. It's the user interface for an ERP we want it to open IE on a second monitor that faces away from the user. They won't be interacting with IE it will just be opening new tabs throughout the day.

The program I have written just makes the acvtive window the i again.

So, IE isn't open when the user does the particular action, and you want to open a tab in IE based on this action? Why would you want to open new tabs in IE based on something that is happening on the system? Could you explain in more detail what exactly you are hoping to achieve here, from beginning to end? Please start with the very first action that you'd like to monitor for and tell us the specific end result you're looking for. Surely there isn't any value in just opening an IE tab every time the user does something.
