Guys, I have a couple of questions. I have win7 and for some reason, when I open RELATED things and they're in the taskbar, unlike in XP, I CANNOT move the individual item/icon around in the taskbar, the whole damn group follows.
I have it set to NEVER combine...

Second question. I tend to keep three folders open at all times and they have shortcuts to all my programs in them. HOWEVER, I don't want to see the NAVIGATION pane in those three folders but I DO want to see it in the windows/folders that I open to look at stuff in windows explorer.
I have NOT chosen the APPLY to other folders...

Heeeeeeeelp.

Also, I would like windows to always open these three folders on startup which is not a problem, but I would like them to be opened in a certain order and windows won't do it, EVEN if I renamed them to be in alphabetical order. Any ideas?

Thanks

George

Those are all normal things - you'll just have to learn to live with them, I'm afraid!

As for start-up order of those folders, I'm not sure if you can set a specific order to open them; hopefully someone else will have an idea!

F'ing Microsuck! :(

I can't believe the way they do things. I DO have it set to NEVER combine and it still does it.

I had a shareware program that allowed me to move them around (on XP), may have to check into that again.

Thanks

"F'ing Microsuck" .........that really made me smile, I must remember that one. :)

Just a thought, when you went into Taskbar Properties and chose Never Combine, did you go through the Apply>OK sequence afterwards?

Yup, if combined all folder windows would look like a stack of cards with no label. If a subfolder is opened it will be grouped with the parent folder as CJ said. The taskbar icons will move together.
You can't choose specific folders not to show the navigation pane, that option will apply the setting to all Explorer windows.
I suppose you have a reason for 3 folders with program shortcuts. Would it not be faster to pin those shortcuts to the Start Menu or even the Taskbar? Should be the same amount of clicks.

Alright, can I UNGROUP them? It irritates me like hell that I can't and have to make sure everything is opened in the right order and of course, as I keep doing stuff along the day, they will NOT be.

As for pinning the stuff to the start menu or task bar, too much stuff and I LIKE this. I've done it this way for years..
